Women’s Peer Group

What is the NECA Women Peer Group?

The NECA Women’s Peer Group (NWPG) offers an open forum for women working in all aspects of the electrical construction industry. NWPG members come together to discuss the issues they face in a traditionally male-led industry and to facilitate mentoring relationships between emerging and established industry leaders.

The NWPG also works to recruit new talent and demonstrate the opportunities available to women in electrical contracting. Currently, the NWPG hosts an Annual Summit, held concurrently with the NECA Future Leaders Conference, and a roundtable session at NECA’s annual convention and trade show. NWPG members also stay in touch through Facebook and LinkedIn and are planning to launch a webinar series.

Tricia Ferry and Rachel Barber of Valley Electrical Consolidated Inc. (VEC) co-founded NWPG in 2009 after discussing their concern that women lacked a voice within the industry and association with their father, Rex Ferry, VEC Inc. CEO and NECA President (2008-2011). Since the group’s establishment in October 2009, membership and participation has steadily grown.

NWPG membership is open to all women affiliated with NECA-member companies, chapters and LMCCs. For more information about connecting with the NWPG, to receive updates about future events and activities, or to suggest topics to be covered at the 2011 San Diego Roundtable – contact Beth MarguliesAdrianne Gracias or post to the NWPG Facebook wall.
