Political Action

NECA takes an active role in keeping members, the electrical construction industry, and the public aware of both current and pending legislation and regulations that could affect signatory electrical contractors and the construction industry as a whole.

Through legislative monitoring, grassroots and constituent action, lobbying, and the $1 million-plus Electrical Construction Political Action Committee (ECPAC), NECA informs key policymakers of the views of electrical contractors.

NECA’s legislative action focuses on areas such as bidding procedures, energy use and conservation, federal procurement policy, employment laws, apprenticeship and workforce training, and taxation. NECA maintains a strong presence on Capitol Hill and often provides testimony on legislation and proposed rules that could affect the industry.

In addition to its day-to-day contact with the policymakers, NECA also works in joint action with other business and construction organizations to amplify members’ voice in government affairs.
